All Things Optic: Q3 2025
Q3 / A productive summer rolls into an eventful autumn.
This latest quarterly review comes a little later than planned, thanks to a super-busy end to summer that has led to an autumn of variety across branding, website design, exhibition and report design, video / photography shoots, and bit of animation for good measure.
The teaser image above might be a bit of a giveaway, but after a patient wait, at long last, we are excited to have the keys to our new studio. There’s work to be done on this front but it’s taking shape nicely, and already proving to be a productive and enjoyable space to work from.
In October, we launched our biggest range of projects to date – a full suite of interactive report designs spanning Annual Report, Sustainability Report and supporting Modern Slavery Statement for a £38bn national project. To be to be selected and responsible for working on a project of such high value and significance is a real milestone moment for Studio Optic and a credit to the years of work and proof in place from our similar report work for Tideway (see here), published in June this year. With a full case study in the works, we’re excited to share more on this soon.
It has been a brilliant few months for our latest range of branding projects, with a number of new identities launched alongside accompanying websites, videos and photography content. With new identities designed for brands and businesses across architecture, construction, energy, insurance, defence / security, food and agriculture.
Last year, we had the pleasure of designing the logo, branding and website for Easthorpe Green – a new eco-home development from our long-time client, Gusto Homes. With building work on the site now well underway, a full case study is to follow soon, but for now, here’s a little teaser.
It was another busy quarter for content creation, with numerous shoots taking place across the country, and edits delivered for overseas clients too. Linked to our project above, we enjoyed a recent shoot closer to home, capturing video and photography at Easthorpe Green to compliment our branding work. The homes are coming along nicely and we captured a range of interior and exterior shots alongside a wider brand shoot for Gusto Construction. With a full suite of video and photography close to completion, it’s another project we’re really excited to share.
On the website-front, we were delighted to launch a new website for Semeris – a team of finance technologists. With an existing website in place, our challenge was to provide a modernised, fit-for-purpose site that more accurately reflected and communicated their services. With a large volume of content to fit into the website, we delivered a megamenu structure that simplified this into sections, with categorised content that can be navigated with ease. With a full case study to follow, you can see the full website for yourself in the meantime at semeris.com.
On the topic of websites, we were also proud to recently be recognised as Squarespace Circle Gold Partners.
Squarespace has been our website platform of choice for over a decade, and as Squarespace Circle Gold Partners, we have access to a number of exclusive benefits – from discounts we can pass onto our clients, to extended trial times, priority support, and new features.
You can read more about this in our recent blog post (see here).
And it wouldn’t be a quarterly update from me, without an update on this year’s progress on the bike. It has been incredible to ride in some beautiful locations this year, experiencing all weathers and most recently enjoying some late-summer sunshine in the cycling bliss of Girona.
That takes this year’s total to just over 3,000 miles – and a whopping 200+ hours in the saddle. Time on the bike has been so important for me this year, providing space to think without distraction. There have been rides to look back and review, rides to think and plan ahead, but also rides to provide some calm when work / life starts to simmer over. Like so many others, I find the repetition of pedalling to be meditative and my best ideas always seem to happen whilst I’m on my bike – so here’s to many more lightbulb moments on two wheels.
With the dark nights and colder days upon us, free to give me a follow if like me, you’re just about ready to face those under-desk Zwift sessions.
We have so much to share from behind the scenes at the studio right now and from next week onwards, the aim will be to share weekly case studies and updates on LinkedIn (and who knows, maybe even our Instagram), so if we’re not already, it would be great to connect.
